I had a pretty fantastic day. Today I traveled to Princeton to attend a childrens book festival. These are some of the things I brought back. It’s really exciting for children and families and people like me who are kids at heart. As an aspiring author illustrator I can’t help but smile and think this could be me someday.
There were some moms who had dozens upon dozens of books in hand ready for checkout and I wish that could have been me! I ended up not taking enough money with me and spent half on transportation from the city and didn’t have enough cash to buy all the books I wanted. I bought Scott C’s Amazing Everything and a print, and met author Ame Dyckman of Boy + Bot (the nicest most friendly person I’ve ever met in my life!).
At cash checkout a lady was giving out temporary tattoos of classic cartoon characters and I was literally squealing to see all of these characters that I recognized from childhood. I was just a little disappointed because all the kids were asked which characters they recognized and what they wanted but I wasn’t. Though, since I’m such a big kid I can understand why I wasn’t asked.
Also thunderstorm warning today
but I lucked out and for the time that I was outside it didn’t rain at all.
Pretty awesome day.
